Franz Kline is an artist whose minimalist applications of paint are made all the more curious by his striking gestures onto the canvas. Adding to that his stark use of black and white, I find his work complex in an uncomplicated way that lends itself to freedom of an indefinable kind. It embodies a jumping-off point for the imagination.
